approval of the swale draft gambling act policy

The Chairman introduced the report, which gave details of the requirements and recommendations for a draft of the Gambling Licensing Policy for consultation purposes.

In response to a question from a Member, the Licensing Officer explained that any enforcement action under the Gambling Act would be the responsibility of the Gambling Commission, although Swale Borough Council (SBC) might incur some small costs in this matter. The Council's role would mainly be the issuing of gaming machine permits.

RESOLVED:

(1) That the Draft Gambling Policy Statement be approved for consultation purposes.

approval of the amended swale licensing policy

The Chairman introduced the report, which detailed the requirements and recommendations for the revised Licensing Policy, which would then be used for consultation purposes. He explained that this revision was necessary, following legal action taken against Canterbury City Council.

RESOLVED:

(1) That the amended Swale Licensing Policy be approved for consultation purposes.
