MINUTES of the Meeting held in the Council Chamber, Swale House, East Street, Sittingbourne on Thursday 15th April 2010 from 10:35 am to 10:45 am.

Present: Councillor Derek Conway (Chairman), Councillors Anita Walker and Nick Williams.

Officers Present: Kellie Mackenzie, Samantha Potts and Donna Price.

The Chairman opened the meeting by introducing the Sub-Committee and the Officers present. He then outlined the procedure that would be followed.

application for street trading (non-festival)

The Chairman introduced the report which provided details of an application received for the sale of hot and cold food from a trailer at various locations in Swale.

Discussions ensued and Members shared the concerns of the Police outlined in the report in respect of all but one of the proposed locations. Members considered that a Licence should be permitted for the Cromwell Road, Sheerness location but that this should only be for a temporary period of one year in order for the licence to be reviewed at the end of that period.

RESOLVED:

(1) That in respect of the Street Trading Licence (non-festival), the Sub-Committee's decision is attached as Appendix 1:

Cromwell Road, Sheerness (opposite B2007) - Tuesday - Saturday - 09:00 - 16:00 hours.

Special Condition:

(1) The Licence shall be for the period of one year, renewable April 2011.
