MINUTES of the Meeting held in the Council Chamber, Swale House, East Street, Sittingbourne on Thursday 3rd June 2010 from 10:30 am to 10:50 am.
Present: Councillor John Morris (Chairman), Councillors Bobbin and Anita Walker.
Officers Present: Kellie Mackenzie, Samantha Potts and Donna Price.
Also In Attendance: Mr J F Dillon (Solicitor for Licence Holder), Geoff Rowley and PC Barbara Murray (Kent Police).

review of premises licence under the licensing act 2003 - costcutter, 21 east street, sittingbourneThe Chairman introduced the report for a review of the premises licence of Costcutter at 21 East Street, Sittingbourne. This had been called at the request of Kent Police following allegations of underage sales of alcohol and a breach of the licence conditions in respect of CCTV. RESOLVED:
(1) That in respect of the Review of the Premises Licence at Costcutter, 21 East Street, Sittingbourne: That a three day suspension of the premises licence be enforced from 1st July - 3rd July 2010 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). Additional condition: All staff to be trained to at least BII Level 1 in responsible alcohol retailing under the Licensing Act 2003. To be authorised in the sale of alcohol at the premises. This training must be auditable and available to Police, Local Authority Licensing Officer and Trading Standards on request when the premises are open for licensable activities. This training shall be completed within 21 days of the end of the appeal period (42 days from 3rd June 2010). Evidence of training must then be submitted to the Licensing Section at Swale Borough Council. |
